BigCommerce’s newest and most material difference is its fee structure. Since June 1, 2026, BigCommerce charges an Open Payment Provider Fee on any gateway outside its Embedded Payment Providers list, and Cybersource isn’t on that list. This fee stacks on top of Cybersource’s gateway fee and Finix’s interchange-plus pricing, so merchants should model total cost before switching.

Can I switch payment processors on BigCommerce without changing my store?
Yes. Finix connects to BigCommerce through a Cybersource Gateway integration, so your storefront, theme, products, and checkout flow stay the same. You’re changing how payments are processed, not your platform.
Does Finix work alongside BigCommerce Payments, or do I have to remove it?
Setting up Finix means disabling BigCommerce Payments and making Finix, via Cybersource, your active payment gateway. They don’t run side by side. Your store, products, checkout, and customer data stay unchanged.
Is a developer required to set up Finix on BigCommerce?
Most businesses can complete setup without a developer. BigCommerce connects to Cybersource via OAuth, so there’s no manual API key entry. Your store does need Optimized One Page Checkout enabled, which is a settings toggle in your BigCommerce admin, not custom development.
What happens to my existing BigCommerce orders and customer data when I switch?
Nothing changes. Order history, product listings, and customer data live in BigCommerce regardless of which payment gateway is active. Switching to Finix only changes how new transactions are processed.
Does Finix support Apple Pay and Google Pay on BigCommerce?
